Elliot Anderson has made a huge impression since making the move to Nottingham Forest, and he’s now explained all after leaving Newcastle in an interview.

Nuno Espirito Santo took full advantage of Newcastle United’s PSR issues in the summer, as Nottingham Forest managed to bring Elliot Anderson to the City Ground for £35 million.

Anderson has admitted that he went and spoke to Chris Wood ahead of joining Nottingham Forest, which makes perfect sense as he used to operate at St James’ Park.

Newcastle United have already admitted they regret letting Anderson leave in the summer, despite it being out of their hands.

Now, in an interview he’s chosen to hail one Nottingham Forest player in particular who has already impressed him since joining the Reds.

Elliot Anderson says Chris Wood has been playing like Cristiano Ronaldo

Chris Wood has been the surprise of the season in the Premier League.

Nottingham Forest fans knew how good he is, but no one will have expected him to be the joint-second top scorer in the Premier League after ten games.

Elliot Anderson is just one of Wood’s new-found fans at Nottingham Forest, and he’s even compared his current performances to Ronaldo.

Speaking in an interview with The Times, here is what he had to say.

“I can’t really put my finger on why — we have an amazing defence and then we have Chris Wood up front, who’s like Ronaldo at the minute.”

Chris Wood playing like Ronaldo?

Well, we believe it could be Cristiano Ronaldo or Brazilian Ronaldo.

Chris Wood certainly resembles the latter in terms of build and style of play, holding up the ball and the ruthless finishing this season.

Today it was announced that Chris Wood won the Premier League Player of the Month award, becoming the first player from Nottingham Forest to do so in the process.

He’s certainly nowhere near the tallies of either Ronaldo, but it shows how good he’s been.
