Nottingham Forest have started the 2024/25 campaign extremely well.

Under Nuno Espirito Santo’s management, the team are fifth in the Premier League table with 19 points from 11 matches.

Naturally, that means that clubs are starting to take notice of Forest and in particular their top stars.

A host of players were linked with moves away from the club in the summer with over 20 actually departing the City Ground.

Now, a top Forest player is being earmarked to replace a player who is considered a Premier League legend.

Liverpool earmark Murillo as Virgil van Dijk replacement

Much has been made at Anfield about the future of Van Dijk, with his contract up in the summer.

That means that replacements are being identified and according to Caught Offside, Murillo is now on the list.

He is valued at around £70 million by Forest, however, it’s claimed that Liverpool might be willing to pay big for the right player.

Murillo has been ever-present in the Premier League since his debut in October 2023 and is growing as a player.

Sadly, from a Forest perspective, being able to keep him looks like a pipedream and now Liverpool might be pressing ahead with a move.

Forest should demand £100m if Liverpool want Murillo

This isn’t in terms of spiting Liverpool but this might be the going rate taking everything into consideration.

Arne Slot hasn’t been able to stop talking about Forest since the Reds handed Liverpool their only defeat of the season in September.

Murillo clearly impressed him that day and now he wants to sign the player to replace Van Dijk.

Another season in the Premier League playing regularly, however, should up his valuation and in the coming days he could also play for Brazil.

Hopefully, Forest won’t fight relegation this season and then the world really is the club’s oyster when it comes to what price to charge clubs who want to buy Murillo.
