Nottingham Forest want winger with release clause of £41m, Manchester United eyed him last year

Nottingham Forest might have points on the board this season but a desire to improve doesn’t stop for the Reds.

Forest are reaping the rewards of a very meticulous transfer window that saw 11 new players come through the door.

Two of those players – Marko Stamenic and David Carmo – joined Olympiacos on loan and things look very settled at the City Ground.

The likes of Elliot Anderson and Nikola Milenkovic have made a serious impact, whilst Alex Moreno has been a successful loan signing.

Forest are working hard behind the scenes though to continue the improvements and players are starting to get linked ahead of January.

Nottingham Forest want Flamengo star Lorran

Forest have had plenty of success when it comes to the South American transfer market.

Manchester City considered signing Murillo before Forest parted with £10.6 million for his signature in 2023 and now he’s worth an absolute fortune.

Danilo has been another shrewd signing and Forest will look forward to him returning from a broken ankle sustained on the opening day of the season.

Now, according to On The Minute, Forest are keeping a close eye on winger Lorran ahead of January.

The Flamengo performer has a release clause of £41 million in his contract and he’s considered one of the next top stars in Brazil.

Signing Lorran won’t come easily for Forest, with Aston Villa, West Ham and Brighton all monitoring the player.

Furthermore, Manchester United were actually linked with a move for the 18-year-old last year.

Much like Murillo and Carlos Miguel when they both signed for Forest, Lorran doesn’t have much first-team experience.

The versatile performer has scored twice and claimed three assists from 31 appearances playing senior football.

Forest have to continue targeting young players

Without European football on the agenda, Forest will always fight a losing battle to sign some of the players from Europe’s top leagues.

With that in mind, it’s vital that Forest keep trying to sign young players with vast potential and nurture them into bigger things.

Since returning to the Premier League, the club has done brilliantly with that sort of thing and that strategy has to continue.

Lorran might be an intriguing signing and taking him on as a teenager could be an ideal thing to do if the price is right.

Plenty of game time should be forthcoming for the player on Trentside and moving to the Premier League will surely be something he’s keen to do.
