Murillo has been morphed into a superstar at Nottingham Forest in the current campaign, but that’s not been good enough for any minutes on the international stage with Brazil.

Nottingham Forest have a challenging January transfer window ahead, with plenty of clubs keeping their eyes on Murillo.

Real Madrid were in attendance to watch Murillo in action against Newcastle United recently, having already made their interest known in the Brazilian.

Murillo’s was called up to the Brazilian national team for the international break just gone, though it seems like a bit of a waste of time.

Football fans took to X to react to the fact that the central defender received zero minutes of action despite his nation failing to win either of their games.

Brazil’s misfortunes during the international break

Brazil drew 1-1 with both Uruguay and Venezuela during the international break.

Dorival Junior opted to go with Marquinhos and Gabriel Magalhaes for both of the games, making Murillo’s call-up a complete waste of time, apart from the experience.

The only positive from the situation is the fact that Murillo didn’t get the chance to pick up an injury during the international break.

He’s now set to return to Nottingham Forest as they gear up for an important clash with Arsenal at the Emirates on Saturday, with both sides sitting on 19 points.

Football fans react to Murillo getting zero minutes for Brazil

These football fans, when speaking on X, all said the same thing about Brennan Johnson.

“Murillo got zero minutes for Brazil?? No surprise they only drew both of them.”, @bshax2 said.

@lukeureds89 even brought up jet lag: “So Murillo goes on Brazil duty to get zero minutes and probably a whole heap of jet lag for the Arsenal game.”

@Tr1ckyTree stated: “Not even Murillo could save this Brazil team. They are shocking.”

@ForestNews_Info mentioned: “Murillo didn’t play (again) and Brazil are STILL irrefutably bad. Since Nov ’22, they’ve won just 7 of their last 19 competitive matches. Wins against S Korea, Bolivia, Peru, Paraguay, Ecuador, Chile & Peru again. Not a single team ranked in the world’s top 20!”

“Brazil’s defense is in a bad place. Marquinhos has been struggling for some time now. Danilo and Abner are jokes on the wings. Why not test Murillo alongside Gabriel Magalhães?”, @rafaelalaby mentioned how bad Brazil’s defence currently is.

@caiocapella_ commented: “Murillo went to see Brazil’s 2 rotten games from the box.”
