Compared to other seasons, Nottingham Forest have actually done pretty well on the injury front so far this season.

That might sound odd when you consider that Danilo broke his ankle just 10 minutes into the 2024/25 campaign but things have been on the up since.

Ibrahim Sangare is also out until the New Year but largely Nuno Espirito Santo has been able to get a settled team on the pitch this season.

Forest really struggled during 2022/23 with injuries and only Chelsea had more than the Reds during that particular campaign.

Last season things improved but Taiwo Awoniyi picked up two groin injuries and for a while that threatened to derail the fight for survival.

Forest will hope to maintain a relatively clean bill of health and now, there is an update on the fitness of Danilo.

Nottingham Forest star Danilo spotted in training footage

With the snow falling in Nottingham this week, Forest have been hard at work in freezing conditions.

The Reds are preparing for a tough trip to Arsenal this weekend and no stone will be left unturned on the training pitch.

One real positive that has been spotted is that Danilo looks to be back out on the grass with his football boots on.

It would appear that his ankle is healing nicely and some light training can commence as he looks to get back towards full fitness.

Danilo has some pictures from training on Instagram this week and Danilo is a welcome inclusion in those images.

It would appear that he’s in good spirits and now it raises the question as to when Forest fans can expect him back on the pitch.

Danilo will be like a new signing for Forest next year

It’s cliched but having Danilo come back into the fold could be like a new addition to the squad for Forest.

The Brazilian has been missed this season with his ability to break through the lines from central midfield pretty unique in the Forest squad.

Danilo has been very popular since his £16 million signing from Palmeiras and it was sad to see him stricken with a serious injury in the first game.

Hopefully, this proves to be a really positive step and with a jam-packed December on the horizon, it would be great to think Danilo can be back on the pitch sooner than expected.
