Nottingham Forest got back to winning ways this weekend after two successive Premier League defeats.

Ipswich Town were the visitors to the City Ground and they had just claimed four points from games against Tottenham and Manchester United.

However, Forest stood up to the Tractor Boys and won the game thanks to Chris Wood’s ninth goal of the season.

Forest talisman Wood took his Premier League tally with Forest to 24 and he’s now level with Bryan Roy at the top of the goalscoring charts.

After the game, some talking points emerged about a host of topics and some of the players came in for praise from various pundits.

Steve Hodge raves about Nottingham Forest player

The beauty about Forest this season is that it’s not just about a starting eleven but the squad.

Last season – and even the season previous – Forest were heavily reliant on certain players but now there are options from the bench.

One player who is still vying for that first start is Morato and the central defender was introduced during the game against Ipswich yesterday.

Once again, Forest didn’t concede with him on the pitch as he came on to help Forest see out the victory.

Hodge was impressed and told BBC Radio Nottingham: “He’s a quality player. He’s calm and composed. It’s nice to have a player that we can put on like that when maybe last year we didn’t. I like him.”

Morato could be handed first start vs Manchester City

Against the reigning champions, Espirito Santo might be tempted to revert to three at the back and that could hand Morato a chance to start.

Although the Brazilian might not want to lose his impressive record of never conceding when he’s been on the pitch for Forest, he will want to play football.

At just £10 million, Morato looks like a very good player for Forest and his uncompromising presence has helped the Reds preserve a number of points.

Once again he looked the part in his latest cameo and now, Espirito Santo has a very big decision to make.
