Very few players have had quite the impact on Nottingham Forest than Nikola Milenkovic.

The £12 million signing from Fiorentina was nothing short of daylight robbery on the Serie A outfit given his impact on Trentside.

Milenkovic has been a regular in the team since making his debut against Southampton back in August with Forest in great form.

Chris Wood equalled the Premier League record for goals scored for Forest by scoring his 24th for the club on Saturday against Ipswich.

However, it was the form of the defensive unit that caught the eye with Milenkovic front and centre of everything brilliant about Forest.

His partnership alongside Murillo is blossoming and the Brazilian and Milenkovic have been praised as a partnership by Dion Dublin.

What Nikola Milenkovic did to Murillo before Forest beat Ipswich

It’s quite clear from the Matchday Pass video that Milenkovic is a big influence on Murillo.

A behind-the-scenes look at a matchday always throws up some intrigue and in the tunnel before the game, Milenkovic was busy getting Murillo fired up.

As the teams waited to enter the field, Milenkovic massaged Murillo’s shoulders and offered some words of advice to the Brazilian performer.

Milenkovic is Forest captain material

The role of the captain is perhaps overstated in modern-day football and all of the good teams have a number of leaders within their ranks.

Milenkovic captained Fiorentina for a number of years and led the team to back-to-back Europa Conference League finals.

The 27-year-old is in the form of his life and this latest snippet from the video uploaded by Forest shows that he’s a big influence on and off the pitch.

Ryan Yates is very much the captain for Forest right now but Milenkovic is definitely going to be a contender for that role if he stays at the club for years to come.
