It will soon be transfer season and for Nottingham Forest, that means it’s time for the club to come into its element.

A number of players might be targeted by Forest during the transfer window and the hope will be that the right players can be identified.

In the summer, a striker was on the shortlist, with Santiago Gimenez rejecting Forest on more than one occasion.

During the next window, however, it might just be a striker that the club goes in search of.

Other players could be on the radar and Forest are now actively being linked with players ahead of the window.

Nottingham Forest want Nicolo Fagioli

According to Tuttosport, the Reds are one of the clubs now keen on bringing Juventus midfielder Fagioli to the Premier League.

It’s thought that Marseille are keen on the player but they don’t have the relevant transfer funds to complete such a signing.

Juventus are pricing their central midfielder at £23 million and Forest are one of a number of Premier League clubs monitoring the situation.

Crystal Palace are keen to sign him, whilst West Ham are mentioned in the report but it’s claimed that transfer talks are on hold at the London Stadium right now.

Fagioli is a central midfielder and he can play a number of roles from the centre of the pitch.

Forest have Ryan Yates, James Ward-Prowse and Nicolas Dominguez currently vying for the shirts, with Danilo and Ibrahim Sangare currently out injured.

The Juve man has made 15 appearances during 2024/25, including four in the Champions League.

What Andrea Pirlo said about Nicolo Fagioli

The Italian legend has been quizzed on the Juventus star and it’s fair to say he sees him as the heir to his throne eventually.

He told Gazzetta dello Sport: “The biggest leap was made by Fagioli, who made his debut with me.

“He knows how to do everything and is a cornerstone of Juve and has the qualities to excel in directing play.

“He could be the new Pirlo, but better remembered as Fagioli.”

It’s perhaps hard to imagine Forest needing another central midfielder as a matter of urgency.

However, with Danilo and Sangare injured, Ward-Prowse out of form and Nuno Espirito Santo keen to stock his squad, perhaps this deal could be worth doing.

Fagioli is only 23 and as a result, he fits into the ethos of the club and boasts the profile of a player who Forest have tried to target in recent times.
