Nottingham Forest fans have been reacting to news that a Premier League player has just been made available as January approaches.

The January transfer window could prove to be the key to Nottingham Forest securing a place in Europe, as recent games have highlighted a couple of areas for improvement.

A striker and potentially a winger have to be two positions that get looked at in January.

Ramon Sosa has struggled to have much of an impact, albeit he hasn’t been given too many opportunities, whilst Jota Silva has been used in many different positions.

Meanwhile, Chris Wood is the only major provider for Nottingham Forest in the final third, and his back-up, Taiwo Awoniyi, hasn’t looked the same since returning from injury.

Interestingly, it appears as if Nottingham Forest fans have their eyes on a potential signing after hearing who’s been made available.

Harvey Barnes made available by Newcastle United

Harvey Barnes has been a back-up to Anthony Gordon in the Premier League this season.

Despite this, he’s still managed to score four goals and assist one in just five starts, which included an assist at the City Ground in the 3-1 win.

Of course, there is one issue though, and that is his links to rivals Leicester City.

According to iNews, Harvey Barnes may be made available in January as Newcastle look to sign Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth.

Interestingly, Newcastle had been interested in Anthony Elanga in the past, so perhaps there could be something to work out there between the two clubs.

Nottingham Forest fans react to Harvey Barnes news

Many Nottingham Forest fans, when speaking on X, all said the same thing about Brennan Johnson.

@chrissnow2 mentioned the Leicester links: “Yeah… agree. Forgetting the Leicester links he’s a player.”

@apgloria mentioned: “Agreed 100%.”

@LightersLighter commented: “He was hit and miss at the end before he moved to Newcastle. He’s not done much while at Newcastle. So we should get him for a bargain and then the magic of Nuno and the City Ground will ignite him.”
