Jota Silva has a lot of admirers at Nottingham Forest and not just because he has the look of Jack Grealish about his appearance.
The £11 million signing from Vitoria has been slowly but surely settling in at Forest and he’s now starting to get into Nuno Espirito Santo’s eleven.
Silva played for the third time in succession against Manchester United and helped Forest claim a big 3-2 victory at Old Trafford.
Chris Wood hailed Alan Shearer after matching one of his records of being the top Premier League scorer for two different clubs.
His looping header put Forest 3-1 up against Manchester United on Saturday and saw him score his tenth goal of the 2024/25 campaign already.
The striker is very much a man on a mission and it’s no surprise that Shay Given has handed Wood a new nickname this season.
What Jota Silva did after Chris Wood scored vs Manchester United
The Portuguese performer is quickly becoming a bit of a cult hero on Trentside for his all-action approach to playing football.
Silva was seriously excited when Forest went 3-1 ahead against United at Old Trafford and his reaction was absolutely priceless.
As Wood looped a header over Andre Onana in the Red Devils’ goal, Silva dropped to his knees and punched the air in front of the away fans as though it was he who had scored the goal.
Silva then joined in with Wood as he and his teammates enjoyed the applause from travelling supporters in the corner of Old Trafford.
Jota Silva deserves his place in the Forest team
The talented player is adapting to life in the Premier League and he will only improve by playing more football in the team.
Although he has a great impact on games from the bench, it’s clear that he has relished getting the chance to start games too.
He does still give away some silly fouls that he will be looking to cut out as he gets used to the Premier League and the referees operating on it.
Still, he’s a new player in this country and his start to life in England has been steady and he’s showcased that he can play in more than one position.
Silva wears his heart on his sleeve and he looks like he could develop into a top player.
