Nottingham Forest have a player bang in form and Chris Wood is only behind Bryan Roy in the quest to become the club’s greatest-ever Premier League goalscorer.
The Reds striker went one ahead of Stan Collymore into outright second with his latest goal in a 3-0 win over West Ham on Saturday.
Wood signed for Forest for £15 million and although Eddie Howe raved about him, the fan base was less than impressed at his arrival.
The talisman has proved everyone wrong though and last season his 14 Premier League goals helped Forest remain in the Premier League.
Forest are now third in the Premier League after Saturday’s victory and it would appear as though the expectation for this season has now changed.

Shay Given makes comical claim about Forest star Chris Wood
The Forest player has surprised pretty much everyone since he came to the City Ground and he’s very much an important player under Nuno Espirito Santo.
Given is a Newcastle legend and after Wood opened the scoring on Saturday he made a comical claim about the Forest talisman.
He said on BBC’s Live Score show: “He’s going to have to change his name to Chris Wood-aldinho or something the way he’s banging the goals in!”
Wood is out of contract next summer and Forest are keen to open talks with the player in the near future.
Wood quickly becoming the Forest man of the moment
It’s hard to argue that Wood is in the form of his life and he could have scored even more goals at the weekend.
Now, it looks nailed on that he’s going to break Roy’s record to become the top goalscorer in the Premier League era for Forest.
Wood’s name deserves some respect and as Given says, he simply can’t stop scoring at this moment in time.
| Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
| 1 | 10 | 8 | 1 | 1 | 19 | 6 | 13 | 25 | |
| 2 | 10 | 7 | 2 | 1 | 21 | 11 | 10 | 23 | |

| 5 | 10 | 5 | 3 | 2 | 17 | 11 | 6 | 18 |
The 32-year-old is now over halfway to last season’s total after just 10 games of the season and things are definitely looking good again.
Saturday was all about getting a big three points and it was great to see three different players score the goals.
Wood still has plenty left in the locker and hopefully, the player can maintain his red hot streak for a little while longer.
