Nottingham Forest will once again revive their efforts to sign a striker during the January transfer window.

Over the weekend, it was claimed that Forest want to sign Wigan starlet Thelo Aasgaard, however, there will definitely be bigger fish to fry.

Santiago Gimenez rejected Forest in the summer and he was one of several strikers that the club were rejected by.

Eddie Nketiah also declined a move to Forest and the club decided to stick with what they had in the final third of the pitch instead.

Another player linked with Forest since the last window is Yuri Alberto. He’s been speaking about his future after recently claiming the Golden Boot for his efforts with Corinthians last season.

Yuri Alberto issues key update on his future as Nottingham Forest eye move

The Brazilian performer is a wanted man at the moment with a number of Premier League clubs looking at him right now.

Murillo is a big fan of Alberto and that could be one factor in where the striker chooses to play next.

Now, the talisman has done an interview with Benja Me Mucho as per Caught Offside and offered a little update on his future plans.

He said: “I really want to stay (at Corinthians). But I also have a dream of playing in Europe, in the Premier League.

“I am very happy here. Even more so because I’ve found my best form. I was even joking with the guys at the training centre before the game against Bahia. I said: “Man this is the last training camp here at home, at the hotel’.

“It’s very rare for this to happen, and it’s the first time that I don’t want the year to end! I don’t want it to end because, at the moment, I’m living, I’m very happy.”

Alberto could be perfect signing for Forest

At 23, signing Alberto would see the club maintain their stance on a certain player with a particular profile.

Forest did that extremely well in the summer transfer window and ultimately, it’s something that the recruitment team has to maintain.

Alberto knows where the back of the net is and scored 31 goals in all competitions during the 2024 Brazilian top-flight campaign.

Forest need a certain sort of player to act as a foil to Chris Wood and Taiwo Awoniyi.

Alberto looks like a signing that could excite the fan base and at a reported £25 million, he could prove an extremely shrewd piece of business indeed.
