Nottingham Forest are keen to add a few players to their ranks when it comes to the January transfer window.

The club has never been shy since returning to the Premier League when it comes to strengthening their squad of players.

Nuno Espirito Santo does look to work with a more streamlined group and if any new arrivals take place, others might have to leave.

However, with Forest fifth in the Premier League table, there is a chance that the expectation level rise and Evangelos Marinakis wants the extra pieces of quality to arrive to help the team.

A striker might be on the radar. Santiago Gimenez rejected Forest in the summer but it was crystal clear that a new talisman was on the radar.

Journalist shares where Forest want to strengthen in January

With Yuri Alberto heavily linked with Forest, we decided to seek out some more information on the Brazilian and where his future might lie.

West Ham and Southampton have been linked with Alberto too and it won’t be an easy capture for Forest to complete.

However, Graeme Bailey has exclusively told Nottingham Forest News that he believes Alberto to be a player of interest to the Reds.

He said: “Forest have got very good links in Brazil and we know they like Yuri Alberto already and the player wants to come to the Premier League, so I think it’s an interesting one.

“They’re assessing what they need at the moment and where they are at with a front man.

“I am told they are looking (striker), it’s not definitive that they will bring one in, but they are looking and Alberto is certainly on their radar.”

Alberto could be useful signing for Forest

At £25 million, Alberto wouldn’t break the bank and given that he’s only 23, he’d retain some resale value too.

Forest have proved that players in South America can be successful with the tight game time, with Murillo and Danilo producing the goods since arriving from Brazil.

Alberto is on the back of a 31-goal season in Brazil and he would arrive on Trentside brimming with confidence and ready to hit the ground running.

It feels exciting that he’d be coming from the same club as Murillo and the face that the reputable Bailey has confirmed the interest suggests something might be brewing.

Forest do need another talisman if possible in January and hopefully, a deal can be struck that sees him bolster the Reds’ ranks.
