Nottingham Forest appear to have already turned their attention towards the January transfer window, with an attacker looking like a likely signing.

Nuno Espirito Santo‘s side have been pretty free scoring so far this season, and one of the main reasons for that is Chris Wood.

The striker has 11 goals to his name in the Premier League alone this season, which puts him fifth in the goalscoring charts at the moment.

Nottingham Forest find themselves on 37 points and in second place, which is some achievement for a team that many tipped for relegation.

And it appears as if Evangelos Marinakis is wasting no time in strengthening, as Forest are supposedly closing in on a potential first signing.

Nottingham Forest ready to offer £16.5m to sign Baris Yilmaz

Baris Yilmaz is an attacker who currently plays his football over in Turkey at Galatasaray.

He operates as either a winger or striker and currently has nine goals to his name this season, but the fact that he’s versatile will be a big selling point for Nuno.

According to Star, Nottingham Forest are ready to move in on the attacker during the January transfer window.

The report states that Forest are closing in on the player and ready to offer in the region of €20m (£16.5m) to get a deal over the line.

In the meantime the Reds will continue to hold transfer talks.

Baris Yilmaz terrorised Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk

Virgil van Dijk has already played against Baris Yilmaz and it didn’t go well for the Dutchman, as he made him vomit blood during an international match between Holland and Turkey.

Turkish pundit Ali Ece had this to say at the time.

“Baris Alper made the Dutch defence and Van Dijk vomit blood throughout the match.

“Look, in some teams, the stars and the players we describe as great characters can have a say in the transfer process but cannot make decisions.

“I think Van Dijk has suggested Baris Alper to Liverpool because I have not seen another player that has pushed and worn him out this much for a long time.”
