Nottingham Forest will have their fingers in a few pies during the January transfer window.
After a very fruitful transfer window in the summer, Forest will want to ensure that the hard work from then isn’t undone.
With the team doing well on the pitch, it’s clear that not much needs to be done and any player signed must be better than what is already at the football club.
Forest have been watching Kaua Elias with the Brazilian wonderkid set to leave Fluminense this summer.
However, nothing appears to be close and perhaps the most pressing concern is tying current stars down to new contracts.
Chris Wood has been offered a new deal, with talks advancing well with Ola Aina to remain at the City Ground.
There are other players who Forest are keen to tie down to new contracts, however, and with things going so well, the club won’t be actively looking to offload.

Nottingham Forest stance on Morgan Gibbs-White
According to the Daily Mail, Gibbs-White has yet to agree a new contract with the club.
However, it’s claimed that it will be highly unlikely that Gibbs-White will leave this month, with the player still having two-and-a-half years on his existing deal.
It’s claimed in the report that any bids that come this month could pave the way for further offers in the summer, with Gibbs-White in fine form at the moment.
The 24-year-old has scored three goals and claimed three assists this season with five of those goal contributions coming in December.
Gibbs-White is thriving under Nuno Espirito Santo and with that in mind, the boss will be keen to ensure that his player sticks around on Trentside for the foreseeable.
Morgan Gibbs-White statistics 2024/25
One critique of Gibbs-White in the past has been that he doesn’t score enough or claim enough assists.
However, during the past month that has changed somewhat and he’s started to really prove himself.
| Morgan Gibbs-White statistics 2024/25 | Total |
| Appearances | 15 |
| Goals | 3 |
| Assists | 3 |
| Key Passes | 26 |
| Dribbles | 21 |
| Shots | 26 |
| Aerials won | 43 |
It probably helps that Gibbs-White’s teammates are starting to help him out a little bit more and that has allowed him more opportunities to get on the ball.
His pass for the first Forest goal against Everton was majestic at the weekend, whilst his goal was also following a lovely touch to take him beyond the defender.
Gibbs-White is very much a star in the making and hopefully, it won’t be too long before he can be tied down to a new contract.
