Nottingham Forest have been heavily linked with a move for Yuri Alberto this month.

Nuno Espirito Santo could do with a striker given the current options available to him, with only Taiwo Awoniyi able to slot in for Chris Wood.

Nottingham Forest have been lucky enough to have a fit and healthy Chris Wood who has taken the Premier League by storm, and is now one of the top scorers in the top-flight.

However, it appears as if the club aren’t satisfied with their current options, as Evangelos Marinakis has a new striker on his transfer list for January.

Yuri Alberto is a player that Nottingham Forest admire, and his current club Corinthians have now shared their stance on a January transfer.

Corinthians’ stance on Yuri Alberto leaving in January

Yuri Alberto should be attracting the attention of just about every club in Europe after the season he had, with 31 goals and seven assists to his name.

The striker currently plays for Brazilian side Corinthians, which is the same club that Nottingham Forest ended up signing Murillo from.

Nottingham Forest have now learned the stance of Corinthians on a January move, as according to Trivela, the club does not intend to do financial madness to pay for Yuri Alberto to stay.

The Brazilian club understands that the issue involving the continuity or not of the player goes beyond the figures.

Although, one of the ways that the board works to convince the player is the inclusion of goals and bonuses for individual and collective performance.

Nottingham Forest need to test the waters

It’s clear that Yuri Alberto is a player that Nottingham Forest rate and the player himself dreams of a move to the Premier League, so what’s the hold up?

One factor that could play a part is Chris Wood, as it remains to be seen as to whether the Brazilians striker would be happy to take up a back-up role.

Given Murillo’s rise to stardom since making the move from Corinthians, there’s every reason to make a move and there could be a willingness from the Brazilian club to do business again.

However, after the season he’s had, it may take a hefty fee.
