Nottingham Forest were in action tonight against Wolves and ahead of the game, the talk centred around one of the team’s star men.

The Reds took on Vitor Pereira’s team knowing that a win would move the team to 40 points from 20 games.

At half-time, it was a case of so far, so good, with Morgan Gibbs-White and Chris Wood firing the Reds into the lead.

Late in the piece, Taiwo Awoniyi wrapped things up and the Reds claimed a superb 3-0 win.

It was intriguing that Gibbs-White scored as the analysis before the game on Sky Sports centred around the Forest captain.

Jamie Carragher and Tom Cairney agree on Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White

The talk turned to just how important Gibbs-White is in the Forest team and it would appear that both Cairney and Carragher are big fans.

Both pundits were in agreement that he’s vitally important to Nuno Espirito Santo’s team and backed him to go well against Wolves this evening.

Carragher said on Monday Night Football: “I think he is absolutely fantastic and I think Thomas Tuchel is in the stadium tonight. He has been a revelation, not just this season, a brilliant buy from Steve Cooper to bring him in from his former club Wolves.”

Fulham captain Cairney concurred and added: “I think he is a special talent. He has really kicked on at Forest. I feel like he is growing and getting more mature. If he keeps on adding goals to his game he can become one of the serious players in the Premier League and if Tuchel is watching then he is definitely an England prospect.”

Gibbs-White enjoyed goal vs Wolves

Some of the chants directed at Gibbs-White were frankly disgraceful and he rammed those words down the throats of those who used to adore him.

The 24-year-old took his goal brilliantly well after a quality lay-off from Anthony Elanga who played very well on the night.

The celebration was a trademark one with Gibbs-White sticking his fingers in his ears in front of those supporters who used to adore him at Molineux.

Gibbs-White seems to have developed a knack for scoring against Wolves and once again he was quite spectacular in front of the England boss Thomas Tuchel.
