Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White speaks out on why he celebrated in front of the Wolves fans

Nottingham Forest came out on top of an entertaining battle with Wolves, with the Reds claiming a 3-0 victory against the struggling West Midlanders.

Nuno Espirito Santo has claimed six successive wins on the back of losing to Manchester City back in early December.

The victory was secured thanks to goals from Morgan Gibbs-White, Chris Wood and Taiwo Awoniyi who bagged his first goal of the campaign.

Gibbs-White was the man making the waves against his former club one again with the player on the wrong end of loud boos whenever he touched the ball.

The Forest captain signed for Forest for £25 million and Gibbs-White has played for England under the tutelage of Espirito Santo this season.

He clearly enjoyed his goal and naturally after the win, the Forest number 10 was quizzed on his trademark celebration in front of the Wolves supporters afterwards.

Morgan Gibbs-White shares why he celebrated vs Wolves

Gibbs-White was hailed by Jamie Carragher and Tom Cairney during Monday Night Football and he richly deserved the plaudits.

After the game, the hot topic was surrounding why he chose to celebrate as he did against his former club.

Naturally, he was always going to go a little bit cheeky with the celebration given that the chants from the home side were vile, to say the least.

The Forest captain told the live Sky coverage: “There’s a lot of rivalry going on there with me and Wolves, but that’s what makes football.

“It’s all love and banter, that’s the way I take it anyway.”

Once again, the Forest star shone against his former club and they must now be sick of the sight of him.

Gibbs-White was clearly determined to get one over his former club and boy did he deliver during the game.

His goal came after a neat assist from Anthony Elanga and he’s now registered six goal contributions since the start of December.

Forest will hope that Gibbs-White can continue this form and keep going well inside the top four of the Premier League as the season progresses.

Wolves won’t have to face his brilliance again this season and it’s quite brilliant that after the disgusting chants, Gibbs-White has stuck it to Wolves once again.
