Nuno Espirito Santo would’ve greatly appreciated the chance to rest some of his Nottingham Forest stars against Luton on Saturday, with one fringe star catching the attention of his teammates.
Forest’s 2-0 win over Luton in the FA Cup third round was relatively routine, giving the less-utilised members of the Forest squad a chance to shine.
Michael Dawson was impressed by Jota Silva’s display on the right side of Forest’s attack, whilst Forest fans praised Ramon Sosa as the Paraguayan winger scored and assisted against Luton.
To cap off the afternoon, lengthy absentee Danilo also returned from injury, prompting Murillo to post a heartwarming message about Danilo on his Instagram.
It wasn’t just Danilo receiving love on Instagram, though, with Elliot Anderson and Neco Williams showing their appreciation for one fringe Forest man in the comments of his social media post.

Harry Toffolo receives praise on Instagram after Luton display
Another squad player who grasped at the opportunity for a start was right-back Harry Toffolo, who took to social media to post after his first start of the season.
The English defender captioned his post: “Into the next round”, prompting responses from some of Forest’s top performers this season.
Elliot Anderson simply replied: “Quality”, whilst fellow fullback Neco Williams said: “What a professional player and guy.”
Toffolo clearly has the love of his Forest teammates and his performance against Luton would’ve further improved his standing with the Forest manager.
Harry Toffolo was faultless against Luton
At right back, Toffolo comfortably dealt with Luton’s bright young winger, Zack Nelson, winning all of his ground duels in the game.
He also completed one block and three clearances, including one off the line which ensured Forest kept a fifth consecutive clean sheet.
His 52 touches also included six passes into the final third, greatly impacting Silva’s ability to excel further forward on the right wing.
Espirito Santo and the Forest coaching staff will be grateful to have a player like Toffolo in their squad. He clearly understands that Ola Aina is the number one choice at right back, but displays like he showed against Luton highlight that he won’t let his side down if and when he is required.
