The team spirit right now at Nottingham Forest seems to be sky-high given the exploits in the Premier League.

Forest are sitting pretty in third place in the table. Furthermore, Nuno Espirito Santo’s team will face league-leaders Liverpool at the City Ground tomorrow night.

On Saturday it was the turn of the FA Cup to take centre stage. Forest faced their old rivals from last season, Luton Town, and ran out 2-0 victors with Ryan Yates and Ramon Sosa scoring the goals.

It proved to be a big day for Forest midfielder Danilo. The Brazilian hadn’t featured since the opening day of the campaign when he broke his ankle after falling awkwardly against Bournemouth.

The cup match gave Espirito Santo a perfect chance to get him back involved. Not only that but with the game seemingly done and dusted, he threw Danilo into the action – and it prompted some brilliant scenes.

What Callum Hudson-Odoi did on the bench that made Matz Sels laugh

With Forest ringing the changes for the cup game, it meant a strong bench. Hudson-Odoi was sat next to Nicolas Dominguez and Sels was further down the line of subs with Danilo sitting on the end.

As the fans serenaded Danilo with his usual song, signing his name in the tune of the Spandau Ballet hit single Gold, Hudson-Odoi decided to do his own rendition on the bench.

The club’s bench cam picked up a really heartwarming moment with Hudson-Odoi breaking into song alongside the club’s supporters and both Sels and Dominguez were clearly tickled by the winger’s act.

Danilo might get more minutes vs Liverpool

Although Forest are flying and have a plethora of midfield players, Danilo perhaps offers something a little bit different to the current players at Espirito Santo’s disposal.

The sprinkling of flair that the Brazilian possesses is unrivalled in the midfield ranks, whilst he’s also not against getting back to help out defensively.

This act from Hudson-Odoi and the other substitutes clearly suggests that he’s a popular player in the dressing room and hopefully, he can put his injury nightmare fully behind him now.

Danilo is a quality player and after coming through his brief cameo on Saturday there could be more minutes on the horizon for him against Liverpool on Trentside tomorrow night.
