Nottingham Forest face a big game against Liverpool tonight but in the background, things are perhaps starting to rumble when it comes to transfer activity.
Although the squad is well set this season, it really wouldn’t be a window without Forest landing at least one of the players they’re targeting.
The Reds have been looking for a new attacker this month. Igor Jesus has been linked with Forest and other names are also doing the rounds as the club weighs up whether to get anything over the line.
Elsewhere there is interest in some current Forest stars too. West Ham have looking at signing Taiwo Awoniyi and it remains to be seen whether there is anything in that particular link.
Forest have also been linked with Douglas Luiz. It feels like a link that makes some sense and now the reputable transfer journalist Ben Jacobs has delivered an update on the possibility.

Ben Jacobs update on Nottingham Forest links with Douglas Luiz
The Brazilian player could leave Juventus during the transfer window. If he does leave it feels as though the Premier League would be his likely destination.
Forest fans might want to hang fire when it comes to rushing out and getting Luiz on the back of their replica jerseys, however, with Jacobs seemingly dismissing the chances of a City Ground switch.
He told the Football Terrace Clips podcast: “I think if the right offer comes around it’s a possibility which is a surprise because that move to Juventus only took place in the summer.
“More likely clubs are looking at a loan and the strongest link in the last few days was actually with Nottingham Forest. But I’ve had that downplayed at this stage by Forest sources. It’s seen as unlikely.”
Forest need to prioritise a striker this month
Nobody in their right mind would turn their nose up at signing a player like Luiz. However, it’s hard to believe that he’s exactly what Forest need to sign this month with midfield options not in short supply.
Luiz clearly has quality and last season he helped Aston Villa qualify for the Champions League. Right now, however, Forest need to make sure another attacker is added to the ranks.
If Forest do get hampered with an injury to Chris Wood or Awoniyi, the team will be desperately short of options in the final third and Espirito Santo will want to make sure that doesn’t happen.
