Not all transfers work out in football, but Nottingham Forest’s move for Elliot Anderson looks to have suited both parties perfectly.
Anderson joined Forest from Newcastle United in the 24/25 summer transfer window for £35m, a record fee for the City Ground side.
The midfielder was by no means inexperienced but he hadn’t managed to hold down a regular spot in the Newcastle side, raising questions about what he could offer the Forest squad immediately.
However, he has adapted brilliantly to the move, so much so that Liverpool have scouted Anderson on the back of his all-action displays in the Forest midfield.
With those displays in mind, here is all the information you need to know about Nottingham Forest’s midfield sensation, Elliot Anderson.

Elliot Anderson age
Elliot Junior Anderson was born on the 6th of November 2002, making him 22 years old as of January 2025.
Elliot Anderson brother
The Forest man is not the only famous name in his family as his brother, Wil, appeared on the hit reality television series, Love Island in 2024.
Wil left the show with Uma Jammeh, with the couple remaining together since the show’s conclusion.
Elliot Anderson stats
Anderson has enjoyed a steady rise in his career up until joining Forest, with a profitable loan period at Bristol Rovers in League 2.
| Club | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
| Newcastle United | 55 | 0 | 3 |
| Sutton United | 1 | 0 | 0 |
| Bristol Rovers | 21 | 7 | 6 |
| Nottingham Forest (as of January 2025) | 20 | 0 | 5 |
His spell in the lower leagues with Bristol Rovers was the only spell of his career to yield any goals, something he will be looking to improve on over time with the Forest coaching staff.

Elliot Anderson Scotland
Due to Anderson’s grandmother being born in Glasgow, the midfielder has had the opportunity to represent both Scotland and England at international level.
He was called up to the Scottish senior squad but then pulled out due to injury before being called up to the England under-21s in August 2024.
How tall is Elliot Anderson?
Anderson is 5 ft 10, giving him a base to offer physicality in the middle for Forest, whilst also maintaining a strong level of agility and balance.

Elliot Anderson Grandad
Football runs through the Anderson family as his Grandfather, Geoff Allen, played on the left flank for Newcastle from 1964 to 1968.
It would therefore have been a source of great pride for the family when Anderson broke into the Newcastle squad before his move to Nottingham.
Elliot Anderson wage
According to Capology, Anderson signed a contract at Nottingham Forest with a wage of £40,000 per week, a £10,000 weekly wage rise from his contract at Newcastle.
