Nottingham Forest thrashed Brighton 7-0 at the City Ground in the Premier League yesterday with Stuart Pearce watching on from the press box.

The Reds won courtesy of a Chris Wood hat-trick and goals from Neco Williams, Morgan Gibbs-White, Jota Silva and a Lewis Dunk own goal, with Forest staying third in the Premier League table.

Jude Bellingham praised Wood for his efforts after the game. The striker was in fine form for Forest and he’s now taken his tally to 17 goals for the campaign with 14 matches still to play.

Forest had a number of top performers throughout the clash and it was once again a chance for the Reds to flex their credentials and showcase to the Premier League exactly what they’re capable of.

Stuart Pearce picks Nottingham Forest Man of the Match

The legendary figure was working on BBC Radio 5 Live yesterday and was seriously impressed with Forest as he watched his former club smash Brighton for seven in the early kick-off.

Wood’s name was read out as the Man of the Match in the stadium. However, Pearce didn’t agree with the sponsor’s pick and instead went for a man who claimed three assists, Anthony Elanga.

The host for Radio 5 Live yesterday was Reshmin Chowdhury and she shared who Pearce had picked as the Man of the Match on her personal social media channel.

The winger was in blistering form as Forest completed a demolition on Brighton on home soil to bounce back in brilliant style from last weekend’s defeat to Bournemouth.

Lewis Dunk will have gone to sleep with Elanga’s face in his nightmares with the Swedish performer giving the England international the absolute runaround throughout.

Forest stayed third in the Premier League on the back of yesterday’s display. Nuno Espirito Santo will be happy with his team’s efforts and now the players have jetted off to Dubai for warm-weather training.

Elanga has really stepped up his game in recent weeks. He’s proving extremely good value for money at the moment and played superbly well throughout yesterday’s contest.
