Nottingham Forest aren’t expecting too many fireworks on transfer deadline day in a refreshing change of pace.
The Reds have notoriously been busy on deadline day since winning promotion to the Premier League. However, on this occasion, incoming business might be extremely quiet indeed.
An early piece of business did take place at the City Ground. Forest agreed that James Ward-Prowse would return to West Ham with the 30-year-old not even making the bench on Saturday for the Reds.
Elsewhere, Lewis O’Brien has interest from the EFL and should make a move before the window slams shut. Emmanuel Dennis has also been in discussion with a number of clubs over a transfer before tonight’s cut-off.
Reading defender Tyler Bindon has been linked with Forest. Now, with things starting to heat up, the Reds are being linked with another wonderkid – this time, from the Championship.

Nottingham Forest want Plymouth talent Tegan Finn
According to journalist Pete O’Rourke, Forest are weighing up a last-minute play to bring the versatile forward to the City Ground ahead of a number of other Premier League clubs.
Finn was praised by Wayne Rooney earlier this season. He’s made four appearances for the senior ranks in the Championship during 2024/25 and it’s not clear at this stage whether Plymouth would sanction a sale.
The 18-year-old is unlikely to be ready for Premier League football at such a young age. However, he can operate as a left-winger or as a striker, with that level of versatility likely to be welcomed by Nuno Espirito Santo.
Forest appear to be focused on getting things sorted for the future. If Bindon and Finn can sign today and potentially rejoin their respective clubs on loan, it would see the Reds land two very decent players for the future.
Finn would check in at Forest as unknown quantity
The young attacker does look like a decent youngster to be adding to the ranks. Having been given his debut at Plymouth, the future certainly looks bright for him at the moment.
Finn might see his development best served being in and around the first team at Home Park and the best solution feels like a loan back to Plymouth for the rest of the season being included.
Forest aren’t expecting too much business to be done today. However, if this youngster could be signed with one eye on the future, it would at least indicate the club aren’t going to neglect the future any time soon.
