Nottingham Forest’s transfer deadline day has sprung to life as we enter the final hours of the window, with another key exit looking set to be confirmed.

Forest have already confirmed the exit of Lewis O’Brien on a loan deal to Swansea City, with outgoings set to be the key news coming out of the City Ground before the 11 pm deadline.

After David Ornstein confirmed Forest wouldn’t sign a striker before the window closed, interest in the final hours before 11 pm may have dampened for Forest fans but Evangelos Marinakis will still be hoping to see some deals go through.

One incoming signing could well be Lewis Carrol joining Forest from Aberdeen, following on from Forest signing Tyler Bindon from Reading in a sign of future planning by the Forest owner.

The main outgoing deal looks to be involving Emmanuel Dennis as the Nigerian striker pushes for an exit in any capacity before the deadline.

Watford and Toulouse had entered talks with Dennis, but a new club has come out of the blue to seemingly swoop Dennis away, with a medical planned already.

Blackburn Rovers to sign Nottingham Forest’s Emmanuel Dennis

Marinakis will be delighted to see Dennis depart as the striker was costing him £40,000 per week in wages, with Fabrizio Romano revealing that Championship side Blackburn Rovers have agreed a deal for the services of Dennis.

Romano revealed that Dennis is on his way to Blackburn to complete medical tests ahead of a deadline day move, which may remain in the balance as no update was given on how close the player was to the destination of his medical.

Dennis will have until 11 pm to sign a contract at the Championship side or he may end up linking back up with the Forest squad in an outcome that would be detrimental to all parties involved.

If he is to seal his much-needed deadline day departure, he will link up with a familiar face from Nottingham Forest history, who also completed a switch to Ewood Park on deadline day.

Emmanual Dennis could line up with Yuri Ribeiro at Blackburn

In a bizarre coincidence, Dennis could be playing alongside former Forest man Yuri Ribeiro, who has also completed a deadline-day switch to the North West.

Ribeiro left Forest for Legia Warsaw in 2021 so the two players never crossed paths at the Forest training ground, but will be able to share fond memories about their time in Garibaldi red whilst acclimatising to their new surroundings.

Ribeiro was a useful member of the Forest squad who were on the cusp of getting promotion from the Championship, with the Portuguese fullback playing 26 times for the club in the season prior to their promotion back to the top flight under Steve Cooper.

A quirk that surely wouldn’t have had any impact on Dennis’ decision to pursue a move to Blackburn, but a fun piece of information nonetheless for Forest fans who like to keep a keen eye on the careers of those who depart the City Ground.
