Nottingham Forest beat Exeter in the FA Cup on penalties earlier this week with Jota Silva getting a rare chance to start.
Forest progressed 4-2 on penalties after a 2-2 draw in the 120 minutes and ultimately, the Reds were a bit fortunate to prevail.
Forest fans were fuming with Silva for his efforts on the night. Things didn’t really work out for him all night and he missed a golden chance to win the game for the Reds before extra time.
Silva signed for Forest for £5.9 million from Vitoria in the summer. He’s not really been able to hold down a place in the team and is more of an impact substitute.
It wouldn’t appear as though Silva is too bothered by his current form, however, and has plans to remain on Trentside beyond the end of the current campaign.

Jota Silva makes Nottingham Forest admission
The Portuguese player has shown some flashes of promise. Indeed, it’s hard to be too hard on many players this season given what the Reds have already achieved.
Silva scored against Newcastle in the Carabao Cup and also bagged his maiden Premier League goal against Brighton during the 7-0 win last time out.
It would appear that he’s keen to kick on at Forest and he’s already outlined some plans for next season despite 14 games of the current campaign remaining.
He told A Bola: “I really want to make history at Nottingham Forest.
“I want to play UEFA Champions League regularly. I want to be called up to the national team. I want to win the Premier League. I want people to see that I’m ready to take on new flights and make my family proud.”
Silva could be moved on next summer
Although Silva has shown flashes of promise his performance at Exeter wasn’t good. His knack of falling over easily trying to win fouls is frustrating and fans are crying out for some consistency from him.
It feels as though he’s determined to make sure the Premier League opportunity doesn’t pass him by, however. These comments actually suggest that he’s keen to put down roots at Forest.
If Forest do qualify for Europe, a bigger squad will be required. The Reds boss Nuno Espirito Santo likes a smaller squad, however, and quality over quantity will be the order of the day.
The final 14 games could be sizeable for Silva. He has to start producing the goods more consistently, otherwise he could find himself on his way to pastures new next season.
