Nottingham Forest are firmly in the mix for Champions League football next season and occupy third place in the Premier League at the moment.
Nuno Espirito Santo has earned praise this year. He’s revived the club’s fortunes considerably and Forest are no longer the laughing stock they once were in the Premier League.
In January, the club were denied in their efforts to land a new striker. Since the window closed, Forest have won just a single league match and hopefully, more wins can come in the next few weeks.
Chris Wood signed a new contract in January. Murillo also put pen-to-paper on a new contract and that proved to be very popular business in the eyes of the fan base.

Ola Aina contract update comes to light
According to The Athletic, the club are working hard to tie Aina down to a new contract with his current deal in the spotlight.
It really shouldn’t have come to this. Aina was only handed a one-year extension last summer and his form has kicked on during the 2024/25 campaign.
Aina has reverted to right-back this season with Neco Williams doing well on the left-hand side of the back four and producing the goods.
Some good news looks to have emerged from the report today, however. They claim that Aina is tied at Forest until the summer of 2026, should the Reds choose to take up that option.
Discussions have been ongoing for several months over an even longer deal but fans shouldn’t be too concerned about Aina departing at the end of the season on the back of this update.
Ola Aina stats 2024/25
It’s been a very successful season for Aina and he’s bee instrumental in the success that Forest have had during the current campaign.
The job is not complete, however, and whilst the Reds are gunning for a Champions League spot, perhaps the Reds aren’t wishing to create a distraction.
| Ola Aina stats in the Premier League 2024/25 | Total |
| Appearances | 27 |
| Tackles | 50 |
| Interceptions | 29 |
| Clearances | 75 |
| Successful Dribbles | 28 |
With Aina having another year possibly on his current deal, perhaps it’s a situation that will be looked at during the summer once the extra year has been activated.
Forest can’t lose Aina. He’s a great influence on the younger players in the dressing room and his performances on the pitch have showcased that he would take some serious spending to replace if he does depart.
