Nottingham Forest are gearing up for European football next season with Champions League qualification very much still on the cards.

Forest have been third in the Premier League table since December 29th and the Reds are now daring to dream.

Anthony Elanga was praised by Alan Shearer on Saturday as his two-goal haul helped Forest to a 4-2 win over Ipswich Town away from home.

Forest will have to keep going but with nine points remaining and a seven-point gap down to sixth, things are looking positive right now.

When the summer comes around it would appear that the club will go in search of some new players to strengthen ahead of next season.

Evangelos Marinakis was desperate to add a striker in January and surely, a new talisman is going to remain the order of the day for the next window too.

Nottingham Forest want Semih Kilicsoy

Forest will almost certainly look for a new talisman to provide competition for Chris Wood ahead of the new campaign.

Taiwo Awoniyi has backed him up this season but there has been talk that he might leave in the past too.

According to Caught Offside, Forest are one of several Premier League clubs watching Kiliscoy ahead of the summer, with Everton, Fulham and Newcastle also keen.

The 19-year-old is deemed a versatile forward and has played through the middle and as a left-winger during the current campaign.

Kilicsoy has got experience of playing Europa League football this season, scoring four goals and claiming six assists from 38 appearances in all competitions.

Forest will want to avoid Santiago Gimenez repeat

Signing players early in the summer will be imperative, especially if Champions League football is secured for next season.

Santiago Gimenez rejected Forest last season. He held out until January and then ended up signing for AC Milan where he was dumped out of the Champions League by his old club Feyenoord.

The Reds went big last summer but kept returning to try and persuade the Mexican to sign but this time around, the Reds can’t afford to do that.

Targets must be clear as European football is planned for and perhaps signing a player like Kilicsoy will be far more obtainable than Gimenez was.

The Reds might need a host of new additions in the summer and landing the young Turkish performer might not represent a bad start to the window.
