Murillo has been one of the best pieces of transfer business that Nottingham Forest have done for many years.
The centre-back swapped Corinthians for Forest in the summer of 2023 for just £10.6 million.
Murillo was eyed by Manchester City before signing for Forest and it’s fair to say that he checked in as an unknown quantity.
It quickly became evident that the 22-year-old had what it takes to be a hit in the Premier League and he’s missed one game in the top-flight since his debut in October 2023.
Steve Cooper had reservations over Murillo when he first signed but right now, there is absolutely no doubt that the defender is one of the best players at the football club.

Murillo makes fresh transfer claim after signing Forest contract
The ink is still drying on the Forest contract signed by Murillo but he might still have his sights on a move.
Several high profile clubs have been linked with the Forest star and it would appear that he dreams of playing in the Champions League – something which he might be able to do on Trentside next season.
Murillo recently sat down for an interview in his native Portuguese with sports broadcaster Isabela Pagliari, and he was quizzed on what the future might hold.
He said: “Between now and the end of the season I want to aim for the Champions League, I want to eventually win that, and I want to get an opportunity in the Brazilian national team. Between now and the end of the season, there are two call-ups in March and June, so I’m already thinking about what I can do to be in both.
“At the end of the season, I don’t know what the future holds. It belongs to God. Who knows right now what the future holds?”

It’s not really a secret that Murillo might still move away from Forest in the near future.
Ultimately, the new contract is merely to ensure he’s earning the best money for a player of his quality and also to offer Forest some protection over a transfer fee.
Evangelos Marinakis stood firm during the summer of 2023 and demanded a fee of around £70 million for the central defender.

| Appearances | 28 |
| Aerials Won | 53 |

With Murillo set to play for Brazil tonight that fee could be increasing all of the time, especially given how brilliant he’s been for Forest this season too.
If the Reds do qualify for the Champions League, the fee might just edge closer to £100 million, and that would be quite remarkable considering what Forest paid for him just 18 months ago.
