Ola Aina injury timeline given as Callum Hudson-Odoi update emerges at Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest are at the business end of a quite memorable Premier League campaign.

The Reds – led impeccably by Nuno Espirito Santo – currently occupy third place in the Premier League table with just eight matches left to play.

Forest beat Manchester United 1-0 on Tuesday night, with Anthony Elanga being praised by Rio Ferdinand for his efforts after scoring the only goal.

The win did come at a bit of a cost, however.

Callum Hudson-Odoi and Chris Wood missed out, and after just 39 minutes, Ola Aina limped out of the action after appearing to hurt himself unchallenged.

Nuno Espirito Santo provides information on Hudson-Odoi and Aina

It’s bittersweet news for Forest ahead of this weekend’s game against Aston Villa.

Espirito Santo confirmed in his press conference that Aina has injured his calf and will be missing from action for a while.

The Nigerian player will be sorely missed given that he’s managed to nail down the right-back position as his own this season.

Espirito Santo must now find a solution to the issue against one of the best attacking outlets in the Premier League on current form.

There is some good news ahead of the jaunt down to Villa Park, however.

Espirito Santo has confirmed that Hudson-Odoi will be in the squad to face Villa and that will be a massive lift for the squad.

It’s quite remarkable that Forest signed Hudson-Odoi for £3 million in the summer of 2023.

The Reds have been so much better with him in the team and his work rate was somewhat missed against United, particularly during the second half.

Hudson-Odoi needs to gain consistency on a regular basis, but he’s largely done well to stay injury free at the City Ground.

At 24-years-old, the future is extremely bright for Hudson-Odoi and he’s firmly revived his career at Forest.
