Nottingham Forest ended their two-game losing streak last night as they defeated Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 on their own patch.
It was a typical Nottingham Forest away performance as they were almost extremely hard to break down after going two goals ahead.
Tottenham Hotspur’s Dejan Kulusevski was full of praise for Matz Sels, who produced a number of terrific saves for the visitors.
Sels has exceeded everyone’s expectations since arriving from Strasbourg in a £5m transfer last year and last night’s performance further cemented him as one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League.
Chris Wood was also back to his best as he scored his first goal since mid-February, and Morgan Gibbs-White had a five-word message for the Forest striker after the game.

Morgan Gibbs-White sends Chris Wood five-word message after Nottingham Forest win
Wood netted his 19th Premier League goal of the season against Tottenham, as he headed home Anthony Elanga’s curling cross.
The New Zealand international has been out of the goals recently, having gone on a five-game drought sandwiched between a spell on the sidelines through injury.
Nuno admitted Wood wasn’t good enough against Everton, but had full belief in him to respond well against Spurs.
So it was important to get back on the scoresheet last night, and Gibbs-White was pleased to see his teammate back to his best.
The former Wolves midfielder commented underneath Wood’s Instagram post, saying: “Doing what you do best.”
Elliot Anderson also left a couple of fire emojis in support of the 33-year-old.
Wood closing in on 100 Premier League goals
Wood was another Forest signing who wasn’t met with much fanfare when he joined from Newcastle United in 2023.
In fact, it was only planned for Wood to stay until 2025 – that was his initial contract, which clearly indicated it was a short-term transfer.
But he’s completely turned his career around at the City Ground and earned a new two-year extension earlier this year.
Wood’s goal yesterday brings him up to 88 in the Premier League, so he could well become part of the elite 100-club next season.
He’s already Forest’s top Premier League scorer.
