Nottingham Forest star is incredibly doing something better than any player in the Premier League this season

It’s been a wonderful season for Nottingham Forest during 2024/25 and the Champions League is very much within touching distance of the Reds.

Nuno Espirito Santo has been the mastermind behind the superb season and there have been a number of top performers in the Forest squad this season.

Elliot Anderson has been praised by Alan Shearer, whilst Nikola Milenkovic, Murillo, Matz Sels and Ola Aina have all been part of a formidable defensive unit this season.

A big part of the team’s form this season, however, has been the attacking quality, with Morgan Gibbs-White flanked by Callum Hudson-Odoi and Anthony Elanga proving a dynamite force.

Goals are a huge part of any team’s success, however, and in Chris Wood, it turns out the Reds have one of the very best strikers in the entire division this season.

Nottingham Forest star Chris Wood tops Premier League charts in one sense

The Reds’ push towards Europe has been backed largely by the 19 goals that have come from Wood during the 2024/25 campaign.

Wood is also outperforming the likes of Erling Haaland, Bryan Mbeumo and Mohamed Salah when it comes to the percentage of shots that he converts into goals.

The striker has converted 35% of his attempts on goal and that is the best rate among any Premier League player to have had five or more shots this season.

It highlights that although Wood is meticulous when it comes to taking shots at goal, it highlights that he’s developed a bit of a clinical streak this season.

Wood richly deserves his new two-year contract and the hope will be that he can continue scoring goals as long as he’s at the club and in the team.

Next season, Forest will likely go in search of more firepower and following a recent hip injury, perhaps it’s important to manage the New Zealand international’s workload.

Wood has proved his fitness this season, however, and there is little doubt that he can still do a job in the Premier League at Forest.

The 33-year-old is coming towards the end of his time as a player but right now, he’s scoring goals, enjoying himself and ultimately, with Europe very likely next season, Wood will definitely be needed.
