Former Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper is being linked with a number of Championship jobs.
Steve Cooper was sacked by Leicester City in November, despite having them outside of the relegation zone.
Since then, Cooper has been working for UEFA as a Technical Observer but he appears to be edging closer to a return to the dugout.
West Bromwich Albion have made Cooper a frontrunner for their vacancy following Tony Mowbray’s sacking.
And now, Middlesbrough fans are having their say on the former Nottingham Forest boss amid talk of Michael Carrick leaving.

Middlesbrough fans think Steve Cooper would be an upgrade on Michael Carrick
Middlesbrough backed Carrick with some statement signings in the January transfer window, as the likes of Kelechi Iheanacho and Samuel Iling Jr joined from Sevilla and Aston Villa.
However, Boro have pretty much blown their chances of a playoff finish following their goalless draw against Norwich City on Saturday.

That’s led to speculation about the future of Carrick and Boro fans have been debating whether Steve Cooper should replace him.
@BoroInAltness replied: “He’s a major upgrade. Got Swansea in playoffs, took Forest from bottom to playoff winners in one season.”
@OwenBro68308151 added: “Same Steve Cooper who got Forest promoted and kept them up?”
@MickStroudUtb said: “He’s proved he can do it, Carrick has proved he can’t.”
“Hahahahaha, you haven’t just said you’d have Russell Martin over Steve Cooper??? Cooper’s managerial record is really good considering the circumstances he’s had. Martin is s—-???,” @Georgeturnerutb posted.
@ChrisCollins222 commented: “You mean Steve Cooper who took Forest from the bottom three to promotion? That Steve Cooper?”
@MikkyMo73 said: “I have a pair of socks that is an upgrade on Carrick. I worry about people who don’t think a manager who took a team from 23rd in the Championship to promotion and kept that team in the Premier League isn’t an upgrade on Carrick.”
West Bromwich Albion fans also want Cooper
Despite being sacked by Leicester five months ago, Cooper’s stock actually remains pretty high given how poorly Ruud van Nistelrooy has done.
The Foxes have sunk even lower under the Dutchman’s stewardship, so the former Forest boss has perhaps come out of the job with an increased reputation.
As such, a number of Championship supporters are keen to see Cooper at their club, with an impressive record in the second tier, too.
West Bromwich Albion fans really want Cooper and Norwich City’s faithful are also touting him as a candidate.
So, it won’t be an easy deal for Boro to do, if indeed they decide to replace Carrick at the end of the season.
