Nuno Espirito Santo shares whether or not Ola Aina will be fit for Nottingham Forest vs Brentford

Nottingham Forest will have to quickly park their FA Cup semi-final defeat to Manchester City and turn their attention back towards the Premier League.

The Reds now have five Premier League games left to force their way into next season’s Champions League and the prize really is huge at this stage.

Forest had hit the skids a bit with back-to-back defeats but a big win over Tottenham has once again put things in their own hands when it comes to the elite club competition in Europe.

Forest largely have a fully fit squad available to Nuno Espirito Santo, with the one exception being Ola Aina, with fans eagerly awaiting some positive news on the Nigerian player.

Nuno Espirito Santo delivers update on Ola Aina

Forest lost back-to-back Premier League games when Aina was injured and his absence has highlighted just how big he is to the team.

Ahead of Thursday’s game against Brentford, Espirito Santo has been quizzed on the full-back, with the player spotted with the squad at Wembley on Sunday.

He said in his press conference: “There are a lot of players to assess, it was a very demanding game, a lot of players finished with cramp, so we will see.

“We still have one more day, assessing all the players, trying to make the decisions. All the players who have been out are important to us. We have spoken many times about that.”

Nottingham Forest’s remaining Premier League fixtures

Forest do have a number of fixtures left that the team will fancy three points from before the end of the season.

In fairness, before Chelsea come to the City Ground on the final day, the Reds have four games against teams who have very little left to play for this season.

Of course, that doesn’t necessarily mean a victory but it does mean that Forest have a bit of a golden opportunity to reach the Champions League.

With many of the teams that typically challenge in the higher echelons of the Premier League struggling this season, this has to be the time when Forest grasp the chance with both hands.
