Nottingham Forest defender Murillo has provided an update after he limped off during his side’s 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace.

After going 1-0 behind thanks to an Eberechi Eze penalty, Murillo would get Forest level, smartly re-directing Neco Williams’ shot into the back of the net.

The Brazilian, however, would not be able to finish the full ninety, limping off in the 81st minute.

Nuno Espirito Santo claimed Murillo was in pain post-match but failed to provide any further details on the injury. Murillo, however, has since posted an update of his own on social media.

Murillo provides positive injury message

With Callum Hudson-Odoi already out injured, Murillo’s injury couldn’t have come at a worse time for Espirito Santo.

Forest currently face a fight for Champions League football – a fight they may now have to overcome without their star defender.

It does, however, seem like Murillo will do his utmost to be available for the European run-in, taking to social media post-game to send a message to Forest supporters.

The defender posted some match photos on Instagram, alongside the caption ‘Vai dar certo’, which translates to ‘I will get it right’ in English.

Who could replace Murillo vs Leicester?

Despite Murillo’s positivity, the Brazilian could potentially miss all three of Forest’s fixtures – something that will no doubt hurt their chances of securing Champions League football.

With this in mind, Espirito Santo would be wise to line up an immediate replacement if Murillo’s injury is as bad as first feared.

Nottingham Forest centre-back options
Murillo (injury unknown)
Nikola Milenkovic
Morato
Willy Boly
Zach Abbott

Morato replaced the 22-year-old at Selhurst Park and seems like the most likely replacement for the upcoming Leicester game. But with Morato struggling in recent weeks, Nuno may decide to go with other options.

Zach Abbott started the FA Cup semi-final at right-back, but as a natural centre-back, the youngster could be a more rogue option for Nuno.
