Nottingham Forest have the chance to return to winning ways in the Premier League on Sunday against Leicester City, but Roy Keane’s prediction of the game suggested doubt over the result.

Following the 1-1 draw on Monday, a lot of the fallout has centred around injuries, as Murillo limped off against Palace.

Murillo is fighting to be fit for Leicester, and Forest could certainly do with him back to stop this difficult run of just one win in five Premier League games.

With Leicester already relegated, you’d think that Nuno Espirito Santo’s side would be overwhelming favourites, but Keane’s prediction hinted that it won’t be as simple as it may seem.

Roy Keane hints at ‘twist’ in Nottingham Forest vs Leicester City

Usually positive in his predictions, Keane thought Forest would get a point at Aston Villa, but his thoughts on the Leicester clash at the City Ground are less convincing.

In the regular predictions segment on the Stick To Football podcast, Keane, alongside fellow pundits such as Gary Neville and Ian Wright, went through the weekend’s Premier League fixtures to give their thoughts.

Neville was immediate with his prediction of the Forest game, saying: “2-1 Forest,” without hesitation.

However, Keane was less sure, saying: “I think there’s a twist”. He then explained that his concerns came from the prospect of the “Leicester players trying to impress Ruud [van Nistelrooy] for the Championship.”

Eventually, the Forest legend landed on a 2-0 win for his former side. This wouldn’t be dissimilar to Forest’s 3-1 victory in the reverse fixture, a game in which a certain out-of-sorts star shone.

Chris Wood was brilliant against Leicester City in October

Espirito Santo defended Chris Wood after the Palace draw, a game in which the Kiwi international continued his indifferent form in front of goal.

If Wood needs any inspiration, though, he should simply rewatch the highlights of his previous performance against Leicester, in which he bagged a match-winning brace.

His first goal showed his lethal instincts as he swivelled in the Leicester box to fire low into the bottom-right corner, while his second was all about perseverance and composure, beating Wout Faes to a long clearance and then deftly heading over the onrushing goalkeeper.

Elliot Anderson hailed Wood’s display at the King Power Stadium in what became a regularly repeated scene as the striker racked up the goals in late 2024. The form may have taken a dip in recent weeks, but his previous showing against Sunday’s opponents must give hope to the Forest coaching staff.
