Chris Wood’s impressive Premier League campaign continued after he bagged a history-making goal against Leicester City.
Despite the disappointment of the result, Wood still managed to make his mark, grabbing Forest’s second of the afternoon.
Chris Sutton predicted Wood to score against the Foxes, and the 33-year-old would prove the pundit right, heading home Morgan Gibbs-White’s looping cross.

The New Zealander will no doubt be gutted that his goal wasn’t enough for three points, but he can be left feeling positive after making Forest history in the process.

Chris Wood reaches Nottingham Forest landmark
Despite Wood’s recent goalscoring struggles, the 33-year-old’s goal against Leicester was actually his 20th of the Premier League campaign.
That goal not only puts him one behind Erling Haaland, but it also makes him only the second player in Nottingham Forest history to reach 20+ goals in a Premier League season after Stan Collymore.
With two games still to play, Wood will be hoping he can equal or even better Collymore’s record tally of 22.
Wood reaches 100-goal milestone
As well as making Forest history, Wood also reached a big personal milestone with his goal against Leicester.
His diving header was his 89th goal since arriving in the Premier League, which takes him to 100 goal contributions in total, with eleven assists also to his name.
Currently on 36 goals for the Tricky Trees, Wood ranks 33rd in terms of Forest’s record-goalscorers, and he will no doubt fancy his chances of climbing further up that list if his goalscoring form continues.
