Nottingham Forest have enjoyed an exceptional campaign in the Premier League during 2024/25, with Morgan Gibbs-White one of the instrumental performers.

The man tasked with leading the team in the absence of Ryan Yates has been a standout performer for the Reds and his displays have seen him become the hot topic of interest from elsewhere.

Manchester City want to sign Gibbs-White in the summer transfer window but it’s anticipated that the club will hope to stand firm on a valuation that edges towards £100 million.

Gibbs-White earned praise from Gary Lineker after scoring for Forest on Sunday against West Ham and with one game to go, the team can still qualify for the Champions League.

Morgan Gibbs-White raves about two Nottingham Forest players

The catalyst for Forest being able to prolong a lofty period towards the higher echelons of the Premier League table comes courtesy of solid defensive foundations.

Nikola Milenkovic has come in and been remarkably good, adding goals to the Forest team and proving rock-solid alongside Murillo at the heart of the defensive unit.

Gibbs-White has hailed the impact of both defensive performers and believes they’ve been superb all season for Forest.

He told Stadium Astro: “They’ve been incredible, so good. I mean, the first two seasons in the Premier League, we’d score one or two goals and we think we’d be okay but then concede them as well, so I think that’s where we were lacking in that defensive partnership.

“The manager bringing in the players he wants to help him defend better has really helped and all the boys at the back have been incredible this season and they’ve helped us massively this season.”

Nikola Milenkovic is the Premier League Signing of the Season

You can argue that we’re incredibly biased but there hasn’t been another signing in the Premier League this season that has made the level of impact that Milenkovic has.

Forest doubled their points tally from last season with a win over West Ham on Sunday and the meteoric rise up the table has been largely down to the brilliance of Milenkovic in tandem with Murillo.

Last season, it was often the Brazilian and one other central defender which often meant a disjointed appearance to the Forest backline and it ultimately cost the team their Premier League status.

Milenkovic has been simply outstanding during the current season and at just £12 million, he’s proved unbelievable value for money from a Forest perspective.
