Nottingham Forest will be disappointed by the news that Liam Delap has chosen a move to Chelsea, but Reds fans all think the club should do one thing in response.
Forest were interested in Delap along with the majority of Premier League sides, with his £30m relegation release clause at Ipswich Town a price that was impossible to ignore.
As the season came to its conclusion, Delap was expected to make a quick decision on his future to fully focus on the Under-21s European Championship with England, with the news breaking on Wednesday evening that the striker had chosen Chelsea.
A bitter blow for Espírito Santo, but the club must now refocus and turn their attention to other options, and Forest fans have already picked out their preferred target.

Nottingham Forest fans want Yoane Wissa after Liam Delap snub
Back in January, Forest were linked with Yoane Wissa to bolster the front line, but the Delap interest seemed to quash any speculation about that rumour returning this summer.
However, Reds fans clearly haven’t forgotten, taking to social media to express that the club should switch attention back to Wissa as a superior option to Delap.
One fan said: “The logical option for a striker should be Wissa,” while another added: “Meh. Wissa would be my first choice anyway.”
Another Forest fan said: “I think Wissa would be class and would improve the squad.” One more added: “Wissa was unreal at home, Delap came to our place and I forgot he was playing, that’s the difference.”
One Forest fan said: “Wissa would be perfect in my opinion,” with another adding: “Didn’t want Delap myself, Wissa just feels like a must.”
It’s hard to argue with the Forest fans on this particular debate, as they saw what the pair can offer with their own eyes at the City Ground last season.
Yoane Wissa impressed the City Ground crowd more than Liam Delap
Of course, Wissa had the advantage of playing for a stronger side than Delap, but the Congolese forward stood out at the City Ground a lot more than the Chelsea-bound striker.
| Statistic | Yoane Wissa | Liam Delap |
| Goals | 1 | 0 |
| Shots on target | 1 | 0 |
| Duels won | 6/12 | 1/10 |
Wissa scored when Brentford beat a frustrated Forest at the City Ground in April, scoring with a deft chip over Matz Sels to secure a 2-0 victory for the visitors.
In comparison, Delap barely laid a glove on the Forest squad, not managing a single shot on target in a 1-0 Forest win. Delap would have two more chances against Espírito Santo’s side as Forest played Ipswich in the FA Cup, but again he blanked.
Clearly, Delap has tremendous potential, but both the stats and the eye test say that Wissa looks to be a much stronger fit in the Garibaldi Red.
