Igor Jesus is getting close to signing for Nottingham Forest, with the details of the deal now being finalised.
The Reds have moved quickly to land a striker, with Evangelos Marinakis choosing not to bring one to the club in January, amid some brilliant form shown by Chris Wood.
Jesus played his last game for Botafogo on home soil on Wednesday. He played the full 90 minutes as Botafogo defeated Ceará 3-2.
Now, he will sign on the dotted line to join Forest, with the 24-year-old still going to play in the Club World Cup with Botafogo.
Jesus is set to be joined by two other players. Jair Cunha and Cuiabano have been linked with a move to Forest, and now, the striker has confirmed whether he’s heard any updates on their future.

Igor Jesus delivers update on two players joining him at Forest
It’s fair to say that Jesus isn’t a man in the know, and if he is, then he has a very good poker face.
Jesus has remained coy on the situation surrounding his two teammates, with the Club World Cup now firmly on the horizon for Botafogo.
After playing his final home game for the club, he was quizzed on the two other players, and he couldn’t offer much information.
He told Globo: “I don’t know what’s going on with Jair and Cuiabano. People say on social media that they’re also closed, but I didn’t even ask. It’s just my part that everything is fine. I want to stay happy.
“Taking action and always choosing what’s best for you is important. You get to the end of your career and realise that you weren’t up for a big challenge like playing in the Premier League. No one knows what the future holds, but I’m sure I’ll do well there.”
Forest remaining savvy in the transfer market
Not only is it refreshing to see Forest go after three players quickly this summer, but the fact that they’re all costing under £40 million is amazing value in the modern era.
The Reds needed a striker, and that wasn’t a secret. Jesus was linked with Forest and Arsenal in January, with the Gunners seeing a loan move rejected at the midway point of last season.
Jesus feels like a nice fit. He’s young, will retain resale value and appears to be a different option to Wood in the Forest attack.
Whether the other two land in England remains to be seen. If they do, Forest will have got themselves three very talented players at a low-cost price and that would deserve immense credit.
