Morgan Gibbs-White absolutely gutted after Nottingham Forest announcement, his ‘heart hurts’

Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White will be hoping to play for England against Senegal tomorrow night at the City Ground.

The Three Lions roll into town looking to get some fluency in their play under Thomas Tuchel after Saturday’s drab 1-0 win over Andorra.

Gibbs-White came on for three minutes against the minnows and should have had an assist only for Anthony Gordon to fluff his lines from close range.

Manchester City are looking at Gibbs-White this summer, although Forest hope to stand firm and keep hold of their top players beyond the summer transfer window.

Today, Forest made a big announcement regarding a squad player, and it would appear that it’s something that is a big deal to Gibbs-White.

Morgan Gibbs-White reacts to Harry Toffolo announcement

The time has come for fan favourite and model professional, Toffolo, to depart the City Ground at the end of his three-year contract.

The left-back signed from Huddersfield shortly after the Reds had defeated them in the play-off final, joining in a double deal alongside Lewis O’Brien.

Toffolo has made 57 appearances for Forest but will now focus on getting hooked up with a new club ahead of the new campaign.

Gibbs-White is clearly going to feel the absence of Toffolo and has reacted on Instagram after hearing of the defender’s departure.

He posted: “My heart hurts. Thank you for everything, brother and good luck on your next chapter.”

Forest need a new left-back this summer

The Reds probably have outgrown Toffolo, and with European football to come next season, better players are going to be required.

With that in mind, Forest are right to let Toffolo go, but can’t dwell on his exit and must get busy when it comes to a new left-back.

Cuiabano has been linked from Botafogo, whilst Forest have liked the look of Adrian Truffert previously.

With Neco Williams a natural right-footer and Alex Moreno returning to parent club Aston Villa, it’s imperative that Forest find a more natural option for that side of the pitch.

Toffolo goes with the club’s best wishes, but now it’s vital that he’s replaced this summer.
