Nottingham Forest are in the market for a host of players to bolster the ranks before the new season starts.

Igor Jesus is set to sign for Forest after the Club World Cup, with the striker coming in to rival Chris Wood and Taiwo Awoniyi for a place in the team.

Forest will have European football on the table next season with the club set to enter the UEFA Conference League for the first time.

It’s the first time in 30 years that the club have played in Europe and Nuno Espirito Santo will want his squad to be well-stocked.

Areas all over the pitch need addressing in the way of reinforcement, and after the Club World Cup, it looks as though things will start to take shape.

Nottingham Forest have an agreement for Jair Cunha

Jesus has said his goodbyes to Botafogo, and now one of his teammates is going to come to the City Ground with him.

According to Globo journalist Barbera Mendonca, Cunha has an agreement in place with Forest and will make the switch, alongside Jesus, after the Club World Cup has finished.

Cunha looks like an option that Forest have identified as a player with a similar profile to Murillo.

The 20-year-old looks like a different type of defender from Murillo. He stands at 6ft 6in, but it feels as though Forest think he can come in, make an impact and then eventually give Forest significant resale value.

Defensive departures will be necessary for Forest

Willy Boly was handed a one-year extension when the retained list was announced this week, with Cunha now set to join the Ivorian at the club.

With Nikola Milenkovic, Murillo and Morato all in place and playing their part last season, departures will be essential.

David Carmo will check in from a season-long loan with Olympiacos, whilst Andrew Omobamidele is also returning from a loan spell with Strasbourg.

There is also young defender Zach Abbott, and surely some outgoings will be taking place.

Cunha looks like a decent player to have at the club, and with Forest fighting in four competitions next season, he should get plenty of opportunities to play.
