Nottingham Forest are in the market for a winger this summer transfer window.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side need more depth out wide ahead of their European tour next season, and it’s being reported that Nottingham Forest have launched a bid for Norwich City’s Borja Sainz.

The offer is believed to be around the £13m mark, however, they’re facing competition from Athletic Bilbao.

Real Valladolid’s Raul Moro is also on Forest’s radar after registering 11 goal involvements in La Liga last term.

Another wide player Nottingham Forest should be looking at is one belonging to newly-promoted Leeds United, who are facing a PSR deadline.

Nottingham Forest should try to sign Leeds United winger amid PSR deadline

Leeds have just been promoted to the Premier League, and after operating on a big budget in the Championship, it’s understood they will have to make some sales before the end of the financial year.

That’s according to finance expert Stefan Borson, who claims the Whites have until the 30th of June to raise the necessary funds.

Nottingham Forest could take advantage of their position and try to sign winger Wilfried Gnonto, who they were in for last summer.

Forest had a £16.9m bid rejected for Gnonto as Leeds held firm in their £30m valuation, but perhaps there’s an opportunity to reignite that interest and land him at a decent price this month.

Gnonto would be the perfect wide player for Espirito Santo’s system and aged just 21, he’s the exact profile the club have been recruiting in recent years.

Anthony Elanga and Callum Hudson-Odoi were both brought in at similar stages of their career.

Gnonto 2024/25 stats

Gnonto wasn’t always the first name on the teamsheet in Leeds’ title-winning campaign, starting 26 Championship games.

Despite being named as a substitute 20 times, the 2003-born still put up respectable numbers, registering 15 goal involvements in total.

Gnonto also has an impressive goal record with Italy’s youth teams, netting 15 goals with the under-17s, 19s and 21s.

So, quite clearly, he has bags of potential and would represent a really exciting bit of business for the Tricky Trees.

Gnonto will be a player Leeds don’t want to lose, but as the time ticks on towards the 30th of June, they may have to consider his sale.
