England U-21s began their European Championship campaign with a 3-1 victory over Czechia, with Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson starting the match.
Goals from Harvey Elliott, Jonathan Rowe and Charlie Cresswell were enough to give England the perfect start to the tournament, as Daniel Fila scored Czechia’s goal.
Elliot Anderson had a horrible start to the match as he was booked incredibly early in the match by the referee.

However, England fans had their say on his performance, as they believe this did not impact his performance, as he helped his country earn an opening-round victory.

England fans react to the performance of Elliot Anderson
The 22-year-old has been a sensation since joining Nottingham Forest from Newcastle United at the start of the season.
Newcastle’s decision to sell him has since been seriously questioned, as Anderson has demonstrated his quality as Nuno Espirito Santo guided the club to the Europa Conference League.
His performances earned him a spot in the England U-21 squad for the Euros, and fans have had their say about his opening performance.
One fan said: “Elliot Anderson, most touches for the U21s, dictating the play, all over the pitch showing great leadership. What a player, and he will only get better.”
Another added: “Man of the Match performance there from Elliot Anderson. Despite being booked after 17 seconds he’s ran this game this evening. Proper, proper footballer. We’re so lucky to have him. Geordie Maradona!”
While another believed he was one of the three standouts from the match, as the fan said: “Tino Livramento, Omari Hutchinson and Elliot Anderson were my standouts tonight. Three of them have been magnificent.”
Morgan Gibbs-White’s performance for England
Anderson’s performance for England U-21 comes only days after Morgan Gibbs-White played for the senior side at the City Ground against Senegal.
England fans were impressed by Gibbs-White’s performance despite being part of the side that lost to an African nation for the first time in their history.
It has demonstrated how good Nottingham Forest’s season was, as they are now seeing their squad being included in England squads once again.
Nuno’s side managed to achieve an incredible feat as they progressed the most of any club last season across Europe’s top five leagues, as their points increased by 33 from the prior campaign.
