Nottingham Forest star Elliot Anderson has enjoyed a breakout campaign when it comes to the Premier League.

Although he’d made plenty of outings for Newcastle, he was rarely considered a starter in Eddie Howe’s team after coming through the academy.

Anderson moved to Forest for £35 million and managed to hold down a place in the midfield engine room under Nuno Espirito Santo.

The 22-year-old is currently away with England under-21s at the European Championships, and yesterday he was in action once again.

Conor Coady was impressed with Anderson and it would appear that he caught the eye of supporters once again, too.

Nottingham Forest fans in agreement on latest Elliot Anderson performance

Forest fans simply love watching Anderson play football at the moment and in yesterday’s 0-0 draw with Slovenia, the midfielder was once again praised.

Although the draw is somewhat drab for Lee Carsley’s team, it does give the team hope of making the knockout stages of the competition.

Fans were impressed and took to social media to rave about the Forest performer.

Another Forest fan said: “Elliot Anderson is starting to run the game now. He looks like a veteran playing in a youth team. He always makes the right decision.”

Another fan was quite surprised that Anderson was subbed in the game, saying: “Strange that Elliot Anderson has been subbed off. He’s probably been our best player.”

Finally, a Newcastle fan concluded: “Elliot Anderson has been frustratingly good.”

Elliot Anderson can make the step up to England senior squad next season

Given that he’s now playing regularly in the Premier League, it would appear that Anderson is in the thoughts of England boss Thomas Tuchel.

The Reds’ star midfielder is only going to get better with the more football he plays and there is no danger of him losing his Forest place anytime soon.

Anderson will be hoping to help England retain their European Championship title this summer and will then earn a decent period of rest after a long season.

Despite reservations when he first signed for Forest, there are now no doubts as to what Anderson can bring to the team, with his signing looking like a masterstroke with every game he plays.
