Nottingham Forest can now look ahead to the 2025/26 campaign with the Premier League fixtures released.

Forest start with a home game against Brentford and will bring the curtain down by playing Bournemouth, also at the City Ground.

Before the big kick-off in mid-August, Forest will go in search of some players, with things likely to heat up in the coming weeks when it comes to recruitment.

Igor Jesus will sign for Forest after the Club World Cup, and he bagged as Botafogo opened their competition with a win over Seattle Sounders on Monday.

Nuno Espirito Santo knows that new recruits are necessary, and with the UEFA Conference League on the horizon, it’s important that the signings are the right ones.

Nottingham Forest get green light to sign Konstantinos Tsimikas

Full-backs will definitely be the order of the day for Forest, and particularly left-footed ones.

According to journalist Sebastien Vidal, Forest have been given the green light to press ahead for the Liverpool title-winner who is in search of more football this summer.

Tsimikas signed from Olympiacos in 2020, and he’s enjoyed some extremely successful moments with the Anfield giants.

Last season, he made 29 appearances in all competitions as Liverpool won the Premier League, but is now keen to move on from Merseyside.

Tsimikas has played for Greece on 41 occasions, and he will leave the Reds after 18 assists from 115 appearances, with the player never really holding down a regular place in the team.

What Alisson Becker said about Tsimikas

He might have rarely been considered the first choice at left-back, but it’s clear that the Liverpool dressing room had the utmost respect for him.

At the £15 million being quoted, this might prove to be a shrewd addition to the ranks to provide competition for Neco Williams’ place in the team.

Goalkeeper Alisson heaped praise on Tsimikas in 2022, saying: “He’s a lovely guy, he brings so much joy to our team every day here. He is a fantastic player as well, but as a person, he’s even better.”

Tsimikas might not be the first choice for Forest, but if only spending a small sum on a left-back allows a stellar forward to be added to the ranks, this might be a deal worth striking.
