Nottingham Forest are going in search of a number of new players this summer, with European football on the table for the Reds next season.
Igor Jesus is signing for Forest from Botafogo once his team’s participation in the Club World Cup is over.
Jesus scored the winner against PSG last week, and naturally, his arrival at the City Ground feels like a big one to get over the line.
It had been claimed that Jair Cunha was going to be coming to Forest alongside Jesus, but now there appears to be a problem with that particular report.

Agent of Jair Cunha makes worrying Nottingham Forest claim
It’s been confirmed by Radio Tupi that Cunha has not yet agreed anything yet with regards to his future at Botafogo.
Cunha is happy with the Brazilian champions and doesn’t really have any desire to leave the club at the moment, with negotiations still ongoing with Forest.
Fabrizio Romano and John Percy claimed that Forest were set to close the deal for Cunha to join Forest alongside Jesus, but that now appears to be wide of the mark.
In another twist of fate, it’s believed in the same report that Real Madrid are now monitoring Cunha too, with the Spanish giants keeping tabs on things.
Out in the United States, where Botafogo beat PSG last week, Cunha remained tight-lipped over his future.
He said: “I am focused here at Botafogo on the Club World Cup. I leave these off-field matters to my agents and staff. I am very focused here, and I hope to continue contributing. These off-field matters are left to my agents, that’s for sure. I am very focused here, and I hope to continue contributing – highlighted the player in the United States.
Forest will have other defensive targets in mind
Given that nobody really knows anything about Cunha, it’s hardly worth a standard Forest meltdown if this doesn’t get completed.
Forest will have Murillo and Nikola Milenkovic as their main centre-backs again next season, and anyone who does come in will only serve as a backup option.
Morato and Willy Boly are still at the club, whilst David Carmo will arrive to compete with Zach Abbott for a place in the matchday squad.
Cunha does look like a talented player, but Forest can’t compete with Real Madrid.
As a result, a wait-and-see approach would be a wise strategy here, with lots of contrasting reports now starting to do the rounds.
