Elliot Anderson enjoyed a stellar debut season for Nottingham Forest.
Nottingham Forest paid Newcastle United around £35m for Elliot Anderson last summer and at the time, it was viewed as a really inflated fee.
But that’s not been the case at all, in fact, many would argue the Magpies have been short-changed, as Anderson looks every inch of a £60m player, and some.
Alex Scott labelled Anderson a ‘top player’ earlier this week after impressing for England under-21s at the European Championships.
Anderson starred against the Netherlands last night, helping Lee Carsley’s men to progress to the final, and now Newcastle United fans are all saying the same thing about their former youngster.

Newcastle United fans all saying the same thing about Nottingham Forest star Elliot Anderson after last night
The young Three Lions defeated the Netherlands 2-1 in the semi-finals last night, and Anderson registered an assist.
The 22-year-old was one of the best players on the pitch, and Newcastle United fans have taken to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share how gutted they’re that he’s no longer on Tyneside.
“I cringe watching Anderson. It’s criminal that we let him go,” @DeKuip02 posted.
@MichaelGallon added: “Hopefully Anderson will run his contract down in a couple of seasons and we can get him back…..”
“With all due respect. Why did we decide to sell Anderson over Longstaff? Keeping Anderson would have been the smart choice,” @paulryan6891 commented.
@ReillL88 explained: “We should go all out to get Elliot Anderson back.”
@arydercockhorse said: “Elliott Anderson was outstanding.”
“Every time I watch him I’m more convinced that Anderson is the best #NUFC academy product since Gazza,” @liamdnufc admitted.
Anderson has a real chance of making Thomas Tuchel’s England squad
Anderson is really staking a claim to Thomas Tuchel this tournament, and given his current trajectory, it wouldn’t at all be surprising if he’s included in next summer’s World Cup squad.
Evidence suggests that if players excel with the 21s, they will be seriously considered for the seniors, with Anthony Gordon a prime example.
Gordon won the Player of the Tournament at the last under-21 European Championships and made his debut under Gareth Southgate the following season.
Anderson may well be crowned with that same award, although, that will likely depend on what happens in the final as England face Germany.
