Nottingham Forest are stepping up their interest in Juventus’ Samuel Mbangula, with a bargain price set to capture the winger.

Forest were linked with Mbangula as part of a potential double deal with Italian giants Juventus, as Timothy Weah was also touted for a move to the City Ground.

However, a move to Forest doesn’t convince Weah, a direct contrast to his Juventus teammate as Mbangula is said to be excited about a Forest switch.

How old is Samuel Mbangula?

Samuel-Germain Kinduelu Mbangula Tshifunda was born on the 16th of January, 2004, making him 21 years old at the time of writing.

Born in Belgium, Mbangula spent time at both Club Brugge and Anderlecht as a youth player before making the switch to Juventus.

At 16, Mbangula moved to Juventus to initially play for their under-17 team, before moving on to the under-19s, then Juventus’ Next Gen team, where his talents were recognised.

The Belgian made his debut for the senior team in the 24/25 season under Thiago Motta, who was a big fan. Motta labelled Mbangula as “fantastic” during his breakthrough campaign before the coach was dismissed by Juventus and replaced by Igor Tudor, who has been less keen on the winger.

The winger also showed an ability to provide for his teammates, creating 1.93 chances per 90 minutes while also chipping in defensively with a hugely impressive 1.29 successful tackles per game.
