Nottingham Forest are on the hunt for new players with outgoing deals overriding the new signings at the moment.
Anthony Elanga is set to sign for Newcastle, whilst Ramon Sosa has also departed to sign for Palmeiras.
Forest have landed Igor Jesus from Botafogo but right now, the squad does look weaker than it did when the season finished at the end of 2024/25.
Still, there are five weeks to go until the new season, and that should give Nuno Espirito Santo plenty of time to bring some new players in.

Nottingham Forest want James McAtee
According to Sky Sports, Forest are going to be scrapping Crystal Palace for the signature of the Manchester City talent.
McAtee is big pals with Elliot Anderson after their exploits at the European Under-21 Championships in the summer, with England winning the trophy.
The forward scored seven goals in 27 outings in all competitions last season but is keen to get regular first-team football under his belt next season.
Some claims have suggested McAtee might be able to leave for around £20 million, although City would look for a little bit more than that.
What Pep Guardiola has said about James McAtee
Guardiola has never let his big-name stars get in the way of the path between the academy and the first-team at City.
As a result, he might feel a bit bad letting McAtee leave, but at 21-years-old, first-team football is now in the sights of the youngster.
In October last year, after a Champions League game in which McAtee scored, Guardiola said: “Everyone adores him. You saw the reaction of the players, so everyone loves him.”
McAtee typically operates as a number 10, and given that’s where Morgan Gibbs-White plays, it’s hard to imagine the City starlet being the perfect signing.
However, Gibbs-White has proved in the past he’s more than capable of playing in midfield and perhaps that’s something for Espirito Santo to ponder.
